Duane Morris Partners to Participate in the New York State Bar Association's Global Law Week
NEW YORK, April 14, 2011—Duane Morris LLP partners Eberhard H. Röhm, William H. Schrag and Lee J. Potter, Jr. will be presenters during the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) International Section's Global Law Week, taking place on May 10-13, 2011, in New York. This initiative will focus on key issues in the international practice of law and allow attendees to form and renew professional and personal relationships and connections. Throughout the week, emphasis will be on the prominence of New York and its law in commercial, financial and cultural life around the globe. Röhm and Schrag also serve on the planning committee for the event.
Beginning at noon on May 11, the Duane Morris New York office will host the Global Law Week panel, "International Mergers and Acquisitions in a Changing Legal and Business Environment." Röhm will serve as panel chair, and he and Potter are featured speakers for this session. Röhm will also speak on Islamic finance in the panel, "Global Regulatory and Market Survey of Islamic Banking and Finance," taking place at 3 p.m. on May 12 at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Röhm, a native of Munich, Germany, focuses his practice on international transactional matters with Germany and other European Union countries. He oversees and handles corporate and real estate mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and securities offerings for a wide area of clients as well as foreign governments. Röhm holds German and U.S. law degrees, having graduated from Fordham University School of Law, the University of Heidelberg and the University of Bonn.
Schrag practices in the areas of bankruptcy, commercial litigation and creditors' rights. With more than 30 years of experience, he focuses on domestic and international bankruptcy litigation, workouts, corporate reorganization and related matters. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of George Washington University.
Potter practices in corporate law with a concentration on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He regularly advises foreign and U.S. companies, both publicly held and private, on a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters. He is a 1992 graduate, with honors, of the University of North Carolina School of Law (joint J.D./M.B.A.) and a graduate of Oberlin College.
