Stigter joins Duane Morris from Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP.
Stigter counsels employers, including multinational corporations, on all aspects of global immigration and develops complex immigration strategies. She has broad experience counseling clients on the immigration laws of countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. She provides an extensive range of services including visas and work permits to clients who relocate employees to work outside of the U.S. Stigter also advises clients on U.S. immigration matters, as well as the development of comprehensive global human resources strategies and project planning. She also conducts training sessions for supervisors and global mobility professionals, managers and employees recruiters regarding international transfers and hiring from abroad. Stigter has spoken at industry events on topics related to global immigration. She is a member of the New York State Bar, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the International Bar Association and Union Internationale des Avocats, Stigter is also fluent in Dutch and German.
Stigter earned an LL.M. in 1999 from Emory University School of Law. She earned a Masters in Law and Economics degree (ELL.M.) in 1998 from Universität Hamburg Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaft II in Hamburg, Germany. She earned her J.D. in 1998 from Rijksuniversiteit Leiden - Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid in Leiden, The Netherlands.
