Duane Morris Atlanta Office Establishes Real Estate Practice

Atlanta, January 29 - Duane Morris LLP, among the one hundred largest law firms in the nation, has added a new real estate partner, Amy Huskins, formerly of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC.

"We are delighted to welcome Amy to the firm," said Sheldon Bonovitz, Chairman of Duane Morris. "Her experience and background in commercial real estate are of significant value to the firm's clients in Atlanta as well as nationally."

"Amy's knowledge of the commercial real estate market in Atlanta as well as secured transactions brings our office additional capability to better serve our clients," observed Chuck Whitney, partner in charge of the Atlanta office of Duane Morris. "We are also excited about Amy's ability to fit well into our entrepreneurial and collegial culture."

Amy Huskins practices in the areas of commercial real estate, mortgage and finance, creditors' rights and nonprofit lending. She represents lenders in commercial real estate matters; owners and developers in the acquisition, holding and disposition of commercial real estate; secured creditors in loan workouts, foreclosures and the enforcement of creditors' rights; and international clients on real estate and other business matters.

Amy has considerable experience representing financial institutions in transactions with nonprofit organizations and serves as title agent for many national title insurance companies. She is a Past President of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of Atlanta, the first attorney to be elected as president, and served as Atlanta co-chair of the 1997 National Network CREW convention. Amy was an inaugural co-recipient of the 1998 CREW-Atlanta Member of the Year Award. She has been featured by and authored articles for the Atlanta Business Chronicle, was author of "RTC Title Standards" for the State Bar of Georgia Title Standards, and was previously appointed to the Advisory Board of Dorey's real estate publications. She continues to serve on the CREW-Atlanta Past President's Advisory Council. Amy is a member of the Atlanta, State of Georgia and American bar associations and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.

A 1984 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, Amy was elected to the Editorial Board of the Tennessee Law Review, and is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tennessee. She is a Past Delegate to the University of Tennessee National Alumni Association, Past President of the University of Tennessee Atlanta Alumni Association and also continues to serve on the University of Tennessee College of Law Dean's Circle Advisory Council.
