Duane Morris Continues New York Growth; Former Mexican Ambassador Joins, Adding to Corporate and International Practice
NEW YORK, MAY 12 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, has added a new partner to its corporate practice. Eduardo Ramos-Gómez, formerly of Thacher Proffitt & Wood, LLP, has joined the Duane Morris New York office.

Eduardo Ramos-Gómez advises multinational and foreign companies in North America, Europe and Asia regarding direct foreign investment, privatization, mergers and acquisitions, and competition issues in Mexico and Latin America. He also offers advice for outbound work originating from Latin America, Europe and Asia into the United States including securities, litigation, restructuring and arbitration. His transactional work has involved co-investments, international trade, environmental, labor and fiscal law. Eduardo formerly served Mexico as its ambassador to Singapore, Brunei and Myanmar. Among other positions, he serves as a Commissioner of the Commission on Globalisation World Forum, President of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, and Vice-Chair of the Mexican Law Committee in the Section of International Law and Practice for the American Bar Association.
Eduardo has spoken and written extensively in international settings.
Admitted to practice in Mexico and licensed in New York, Eduardo is a graduate of the Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and a 1985 graduate of the University of Virginia (LL.M.).
He has taught Public and Private International Law in the law school and International Trade Program at the Instituto Tecnológico de Ciudad Juárez in Mexico.
