SAN DIEGO, July 5 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, is pleased to welcome Daniel C. Minteer as a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm's San Diego office. The addition of Dan, a former partner at Pillsbury Winthrop, furthers Duane Morris' continued growth in IP, bringing the number of attorneys in that practice to 55.
Dan represents clients in disputes and transactions involving patent infringement, trade dress, trade secret and trademark litigation. He has advised clients in disputes over financial arrangements involving intellectual property. In addition, Dan works with clients to help them proactively avoid such disputes. A recognized leader in the area of dispute resolution, Dan is a former chair of a state bar committee dealing with financial disputes and also has served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
Dan also has served on the Board of Governors of the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and is a former member of the State Bar Judicial Nominees Commission, which evaluates candidates for judicial appointment throughout the State of California. He is a former delegate to the State Bar Conference of Delegates and is a past President of the San Diego Junior Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his legal practice, Dan has a strong business background. He served for six years as a Vice President of Fox Engineering, a manufacturing company. While at Pillsbury, Dan helped build the firm's San Diego office as its managing partner for 10 years and was a member of the firm's executive committee.
Dan earned his J.D. at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law in 1974, where he was Associate Editor of the U.C.L.A. Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He received his B.A. with high honors from San Diego State University.
