Duane Morris Becomes First Contributor To Drexel University's Future College of Law
PHILADELPHIA, August 25 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, is pleased to announce its donation of law books to Drexel University's proposed College of Law. The donation, a gift of 6,000 volumes, makes Duane Morris the first contributor to the developing law school's library.
"We are delighted to be able to help Drexel Law," said Don Auten, co-chair of the firm's Health Law Practice Group. "Drexel intends to focus on healthcare, intellectual property and entrepreneurial business - all strengths of Duane Morris. Helping to get the law library started was important to us, and we look forward to partnering with Drexel where we can on their academic programs."
The collection, which would cost Drexel approximately $65,000 if purchased new, comprises more than 1,200 linear feet of shelf space. The contribution represents "a significant first step" towards creating a law library on the Drexel campus, said Drexel's Senior Vice President and General Counsel Carl "Tobey" Oxholm. The volumes constitute part of the ABA-designated "core library" and will be available both electronically and in print.
Duane Morris is contributing the following volumes to the law library: Federal Reporters (1st, 2nd & 3rd series), Federal Supplements (1st and 2nd series), Supreme Court Reporters, United States Reports, Federal Rules Decisions, Atlantic Reporters, Atlantic Digests, Pennsylvania Superior Court Reports, Pennsylvania State Court Reports, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Reports, and the D & C County Reporters (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th series). The books will be transferred to the new library when it is ready to shelve them, which is anticipated to be next spring.
