Duane Morris Attorneys and Staff Give More Than a Quarter of a Million Dollars to United Way
Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that its attorneys and staff have personally donated $266,000 in their 2009 United Way fund raising campaign. An annual tradition at Duane Morris, the United Way campaign surpassed its goals and enjoyed its best year ever.
Understanding that in times of economic hardship, the needs of those who already face economic and health related hardship are hit the hardest. Many of the organizations who help the needy see an increase in requests for assistance while the money they have to work with is shrinking.
A Kick-Off Reception was held at the firm featuring remarks by Jeannine Lisitski, the Executive Director of Women Against Abuse, a United Way member organization. Duane Morris partner Mark Lipowicz currently serves as a board member of Women Against Abuse. Women Against Abuse is but one of the countless social service agencies and cultural institutions who receive critical support through the United Way.
United Way is the only organization which the firm supports with a campaign that is promoted among attorneys and staff each year. Duane Morris has been a leader among law firms and businesses, generally, in both total amount pledged by lawyers and staff and by the percentage participating. More than 100 people at Duane Morris have personally pledged $1,000 or more to United Way, with a number of them even pledging $10,000, in this year alone.
