About the Program

The current National Labor Relations Board is reshaping the application and enforcement of the National Labor Relations Act with clear goals: to help unions organize more employees and expand the reach of the NLRA to include employees who typically are not unionized by broadening the definition of concerted activity.

Duane Morris attorney Peter Hurtgen, who previously served as a member and then Chairman of the NLRB and Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, will share insights into the current NLRB and its recent and anticipated decisions. Joining him will be six of Duane Morris’ Employment Law and Management Labor Relations attorneys, each speaking on different hot topics involving Board law. The first session will focus on strategies for employers who wish to remain union-free. In the second seminar, the presenters will identify best practices for employers with unionized workforces and discuss the most recent developments in Board law that affect unionized workplaces.
