BOSTON, November 18, 2025—Duane Morris LLP has appointed Bronwyn L. Roberts as the new managing partner of its Boston office, effective January 1, 2026. Roberts succeeds Michael R. Gottfried, who has served as the office’s managing partner since 2012. Gottfried will maintain his practice at Duane Morris and will continue to serve on the firm’s governing Partners Board.

“As our firm expands and evolves, leadership changes provide the opportunity to recognize and thank long-term stalwarts and create openings for enthusiastic partners to contribute to our governance and growth trajectory,” said Matthew A. Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Duane Morris. “On Mike’s watch, the Boston office initiated signature local business development projects and found new ways to engage both partners and associates in client-facing and community-building events. Needless to say, we owe him an enormous debt of gratitude for his longstanding and engaged leadership in Boston.

“Bronwyn started with Duane Morris originally in 2000 as an associate and made partner in 2007. After working at another law firm, she rejoined our firm in 2024 with new experiences and ideas, a strong professional network and significant court decisions for her clients. Her return to Duane Morris has been a win for us, and this appointment gives us an opportunity to add management depth and an invigorated recruiting focus in this important, growing location. We look forward to seeing the ways Bronwyn will enhance our market visibility and the collaborative spirit in Boston.”

Roberts handles employment matters for clients ranging from early stage startups to Fortune 100 companies. She has a broad-based practice in the area of employment, helping clients to minimize risk and resolve disputes through practical employment solutions and, when necessary, litigation. Roberts has conducted numerous high-profile, sensitive investigations of employee misconduct and disloyalty, and she has helped guide employers through difficult resolutions. She represents technology and life sciences businesses in employment litigation matters, including the defense of employment discrimination cases, restrictive covenant litigation, wrongful discharge cases, wage-and-hour claims, employment contract matters, and trade secret and noncompetition cases. Roberts is a first chair trial lawyer with extensive courtroom experience, and she regularly appears before state and federal courts, as well as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, where she advises the governor and the commission on policy matters as an advisory board member. In October of 2025, Roberts secured a notable defense decision in a wage case before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

She counsels businesses on employment matters, including the preparation of human resource policies, hiring and recruiting, wage-and-hour compliance, worker classification, mobility issues, whistleblower allegations, discrimination, harassment and reductions in force. Roberts regularly conducts, directs and advises on workplace investigations. She also provides corporate training on various employment issues.

“My experience at Duane Morris has been a positive one of progress and success, and I am very pleased to be able to contribute to the firm’s culture of collaboration and collegiality. I am excited to capitalize on our strong market position in Boston in new ways as we seek to attract more talented attorneys to our office,” said Roberts.

Roberts is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School (J.D., 1997) and Tufts University (B.S., 1993).
