Duane Morris Continues Chicago Growth; Firm Expands Trial Practice
CHICAGO, APRIL 19 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, has added a new partner to its Trial Practice Group. Larry Selander, formerly of Foley & Lardner LLP, has joined the Duane Morris Chicago office.
"We are delighted to welcome Larry to the firm," said Sheldon Bonovitz, Chairman of Duane Morris. "His experience adds to our burgeoning trial practice group, bringing significant value to the firm's clients."
"Larry's background, particularly in securities work, will significantly enhance our ability to serve our clients in that important area," observed John J. Soroko, chair of the firm's Trial Practice Group. His arrival marks the second in Chicago this month, David B. Allswang having previously joined the Real Estate Practice Group.
Larry Selander practices in the areas of litigation and corporate law. In his litigation practice, Larry focuses on commercial, construction, securities and environmental litigation for a broad range of clients. In the field of corporate law, Larry has worked on mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property matters.
Larry's active business practice focuses on problem solving for corporate managers, with particular emphasis on contract disputes, human resource issues, internal investigations and regulatory questions. He has managed the sale of many businesses and business units and also has hands-on experience in corporate management, having served as the co-CEO of a startup international entertainment business.
Larry has authored articles in various fields of practice, including a chapter in the Design Professional's Handbook of Business and Law and "Simplifying Complex Concepts for a Lay Finder of Fact" for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He has lectured for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and taught for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Northwestern University School of Law.
A member of the Chicago, Illinois State and American bar associations, Larry is a 1972 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.S., Chemical Engineering).
