Duane Morris Partner to Seek Philadelphia Bar Association Leadership Post
PHILADELPHIA, APRIL 19 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, is pleased to announce the candidacy of one of its senior partners, Jane Leslie Dalton, for Vice Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
"We wish Jane great success in her candidacy," said Sheldon Bonovitz, Chairman of Duane Morris. "We know that, if elected, she will serve the Bar Association as superbly as she has her Duane Morris clients. She is truly an excellent advocate for the legal profession."
Jane, head of the Employment Litigation Practice within the Duane Morris Employment, Benefits and Immigration Practice Group, became the first woman partner at the firm in 1978. If elected Vice Chancellor, she will take office in 2005, and become Chancellor in 2007.
In her work with Duane Morris, Jane has defended such clients as law firms, colleges, and retail businesses in individual and class actions in federal and state courts in various employment matters, including claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation based on age, race, sex, disability, religion and national origin.
Her extensive work with the Bar Association has included service as Chair of the Board of Governors under Chancellor Audrey Talley in 2003; as co-founder and co-chair of the Human Resource Committee of the Business Law Section of the Association; and as a member of the Board of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation for more than 10 years.
She also served as Chair of the Philadelphia Police Advisory Commission for six years.
