Duane Morris Receives Award from Anti-Domestic Violence Group
PHILADELPHIA, September 27 - The Board of Directors of Women Against Abuse, Inc., Pennsylvania's largest anti-domestic violence organization, has voted to bestow its "Corporate Leader" award on Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms. The award is being given in recognition of Duane Morris' participation in efforts to combat domestic violence.
Duane Morris contributes to Women Against Abuse, Inc. and its cause in many ways. WAA's Board meetings are hosted at the firm's Philadelphia headquarters and Mark Lipowicz, a partner in the Trial Practice Group, has been a Board member for over a decade. Members of the firm also contribute financially to the organization. In addition, several Duane Morris partners have served as trustees of the Dolfinger-McMahon Foundation, an organization that has provided grants to many not-for-profit entities, including WAA. Currently, Sheldon Bonovitz, Chairman of Duane Morris, and David Loder, co-chair of the firm's Health Law Practice Group, are the Dolfinger-McMahon trustees.
The award is the sole corporate honor bestowed by WAA, and will be one of only three given by the organization at its 2005 Annual Event the evening of Wednesday, September 28. Sheldon Bonovitz will personally accept the award on behalf of the firm at the event, which will take place at Philadelphia's Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park.
