Partner Anthony Fitzpatrick Named Co-Chair of Duane Morris IP Litigation Practice
National Practice Has Expanded Rapidly in Past Year
BOSTON, December 21, 2005 - Duane Morris LLP has named Boston-based partner Anthony Fitzpatrick as the new Co-Chair of its burgeoning Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group.
Tony joins Atlanta partner Louis "Woody" Jameson as co-chair of the IP Litigation Practice Group, which is becoming one of Duane Morris' widest national practice areas. During the past year, Woody has led the rapid expansion of Duane Morris' IP Litigation services.
Duane Morris' Intellectual Property Practice Group, chaired by Lewis Gould, which numbers more than 50 patent and trademark attorneys, has grown by nearly 50 percent in the last three years, giving the firm one of the larger groups of patent and trademark attorneys practicing in a general practice law firm.
The firm's patent and trademark attorneys and its IP litigators are based in most of the firm's nationwide offices. The IP Practice Group handles matters across the country as well as internationally.
Like Woody, Tony is experienced in all forms of intellectual property disputes, with a concentration on patent and trade secret matters. Over the past decade he has litigated matters involving diverse technologies, with a particular focus on biotechnology, medical devices, and other life sciences. Tony has represented a number of the world's largest biotechnology companies in cases involving core products and technologies. He has been lead counsel at trial in a number of patent cases and has appeared before the United States International Trade Commission. Tony is also skilled in IP matters involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, rights of publicity, false advertising and the Internet.
Tony is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and his native Republic of Ireland. He holds law degrees from University College Dublin (Bachelor of Civil Law), the Honorable Society of King's Inns (Barrister-at-Law), and Boston University School of Law (J.D.).
