PHILADELPHIA, December 22, 2005 - Reeder Fox and Vincent Garrity, attorneys at law firm Duane Morris LLP, have accepted positions from the Center for International Legal Studies to be visiting professors of law at two separate European universities. Fox, of the firm's Trial Practice Group, will lecture at Donetsk National University in Donetsk, Ukraine. Garrity, a member of the Corporate Practice Group, will teach at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary.
As a visiting professor, Reeder will teach a four-week seminar in May 2006 on topics of international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) law. He has extensive legal experience in the trial of business, construction, professional liability, and antitrust matters, as well as mediation and dispute resolution matters. A former chair of the Trial Practice Group of Duane Morris, he is also active in the International Association of Defense Counsel.
In Budapest, Vince will teach a six-week course on United States Corporation Law from late February to early April. He has developed his corporate practice over the course of more than three decades, and is skilled in the areas of business law, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. Vince is a former co-chair of the firm's Corporate Practice Group and has taught mergers and acquisition courses at the law schools of the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Cornell University and the University of Virginia.
The non-profit Center for International Legal Studies selected Reeder and Vince to take part in its Visiting Professorships for Senior Lawyers program, which aims to introduce students and junior faculty of host universities in Eastern Europe to particular areas of common law legal systems. To be eligible for the program, a "senior lawyer" must have more than 25 years of experience in the area on which the attorney proposes to lecture. The Austria-based research and training organization appoints lawyers annually to visiting professorships in cooperation with numerous universities in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet republics.
