Woody Jameson Named Managing Partner of Duane Morris' Atlanta Office

ATLANTA, July 7, 2008 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that it has named Louis Norwood "Woody" Jameson the new managing partner of its Atlanta office. Jameson succeeds partner Charles Whitney in that role. Whitney has served as the office's managing partner since the firm opened in Atlanta in 2000, growing the office from three lawyers to 36 and diversifying its practice areas to include intellectual property, commercial litigation, employment and labor law, business reorganization and financial restructuring, health law, corporate transactions and energy law.

Building on Whitney's legacy, Jameson will assume responsibility for all management aspects, including efforts directed to the continued growth and strengthening of Duane Morris' Atlanta presence. Whitney will continue to play a key role in Atlanta and will continue to serve on the five-member firmwide Executive Committee. In addition, he will continue to lead the firm's growing Nuclear Energy Practice Group.

Woody Jameson, in addition to his new role, serves as the head of the Intellectual Property Litigation division of Duane Morris' Trial Practice Group. He practices in the area of intellectual property law and litigation with an emphasis on patent litigation. He also litigates in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, false advertising, licensing and unfair competition. He has tried and won a number of patent trials and has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer in the field of IP litigation by Atlanta Magazine and Georgia Super Lawyers Magazine.

Jameson has represented several well-known companies in complex patent litigation involving such technologies as cable television technology, Internet technology, MPEG decoding technology, telecommunications and computer hardware and software applications. Jameson is a member of the Litigation and Patent, Copyright and Trademark Law sections of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association. He has served on the Federal Trial Practice and Procedure Committee of the American Bar Association and numerous committees of the International Trademark Association. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on patent litigation topics and has presented at seminars on a number of trademark topics.

Jameson is a 1988 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina.

Charles Whitney focuses his practice on energy, particularly nuclear energy, regulatory, construction and labor law. His legal experience spans a broad range of activities in both private practice and as chief counsel to a nuclear generating plant project. He has represented independent power producers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors in the development, construction and operation of power projects in several states. His nuclear work has included negotiating and documenting all commercial activities, including procurement, architect and engineering services, contractor agreements, and labor agreements; construction claim litigation; applying for and prosecuting a license to operate the facility from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC); negotiating and documenting the resolution of warranty and contract claims against suppliers, vendors, and professional service providers; and "whistleblower" defense at the NRC and the Department of Labor. His practice has also included extensive work in labor and employment discrimination; certification, enforcement and rate-making proceedings before state and federal regulators; and general trial work.

In addition to practicing law for 20 years, Whitney has more than 10 years of experience in senior management in the energy industry, including in both the regulated and unregulated aspects of the business.
