Kirk DomescikATLANTA, July 8, 2013—Duane Morris LLP has appointed G. Kirk Domescik as the new managing partner of its Atlanta office. Domescik succeeds partner Louis Norwood "Woody" Jameson, who served in that role since 2008 and continues as chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group. The attorneys in the Duane Morris Atlanta office represent domestic and international clients in a wide range of legal matters.

Domescik will assume responsibility for all management aspects, including efforts directed to the continued growth and strengthening of Duane Morris' Atlanta presence.

"Woody has accomplished a lot in his five years as office managing partner, and he continues to serve the firm well through his other leadership roles and extensive involvement with our new Silicon Valley office," said Duane Morris Chairman and CEO John Soroko. "Kirk, in addition to his outstanding work as a healthcare lawyer, has a deep understanding of the strengths of our Atlanta office, having joined us in 2003, as well as the challenges and opportunities facing our clients. Domescik concentrates his practice in the areas of healthcare and corporate law, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, company organization and governance, including preparation of operating agreements and shareholder agreements, general corporate counseling and other transactional matters. He has drafted and negotiated licensing, management, distribution, supply and employment agreements and also frequently advises privately-held companies on corporate governance matters.

Domescik has substantial experience in advising physician practice groups and other healthcare providers on operational issues affecting their businesses and a variety of healthcare transactional and regulatory matters. He has particular experience in the acquisition and divestiture of assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities and related financing arrangements. He frequently advises healthcare providers on their relationships with payors and regulators and the impact of the Stark law, fraud and abuse laws and contracting issues.

Domescik is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Atlanta Bar Association. He earned his J.D., cum laude, in 1994 from the University of Georgia School of Law and graduated in 1990 with a B.A. from Duke University.
